Strategies for Successful Integration HCBS Conference

We have two years until the home and community based service system has to be in compliance with the settings rule. This rule applies to everyone on waiver services and includes services provided through the Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD). CMS will require services to be provided in a way that promotes choice and community integration for people with disabilities. The new rule requires changes to the way services are currently being delivered and states will no longer be allowed to use federal money for services that isolate people from their communities.
