Federal law provides protections for employees with disabilities in the workplace. The main law that protects employees with disabilities is Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act, commonly referred to as the “ADA.” Under the ADA, it is unlawful for an employer to discriminate against employees with disabilities. The ADA also provides a pathway for employees to request reasonable accommodations that will aid them to perform their job. The DLC provides information and training about Title I of the ADA both online and in person. In some cases we can provide individual representation for employees who have been discriminated against in the workplace. To request a presentation or to see if your case meets our case criteria, please contact our office by phone or online.
