Disability Law Center Again Calls on State and Federal Policymakers to Ensure Long-term Care Residents Receive High Quality Care

The Disability Law Center (DLC) is incredibly concerned with the findings from the State Auditor’s Office about the use of funds under the Upper Payment Limit program (UPL).  Unfortunately, we have been aware of the problems with this program and have reported our concerns to the State numerous times. We have highlighted the ways this has led to the harm of Utahns with disabilities in long-term care facilities for the past five years, including to federal agencies. We can only hope these recent findings from the State Auditor lead to more action from state and federal policymakers to ensure funding actually goes to providing high quality care for long-term care residents.
