Digital Participation
Digital participation is an easy way to get started in advocacy—advocacy doesn’t need to be in-person! The state legislature’s website, le.Utah.gov, contains all of the information you need to get involved.
- This calendar provides meeting dates, times, agendas, and online information: Utah legislature meeting calendar
- Instructions for using the calendar to join meetings virtually: the same webpage that gives you the information to join the meeting virtually, will also have an agenda link for you to get an idea of what will be discussed.
- Minutes summaries and recordings are also posted after the meeting occurs.
In-Person Participation
If you want to advocate in-person, you will likely need to go to the Capitol. The capitol complex can be overwhelming but some planning beforehand can make it easier to navigate! If you plan to attend a meeting in person, don’t hesitate to reach out to the DLC with questions on how to get to the specific room.
The resources below should be useful in helping you get an idea of the Capitol Complex’s layout and how to navigate it:
- Utah State Capitol Map including accessible bathrooms and elevators: Ramp is located between the Capitol and Senate (East) Building
- East Building Map including accessible bathrooms and elevators
- West Building Map including accessible and bathrooms and elevators
- Parking map
- The Capitol Visitor Services has two wheelchairs available for use. For questions or access to the wheelchairs, please email capitoltours@utah.gov or call 801-538-1800 upon your arrival.
- The UTA 200 bus goes to the Capitol on weekdays.
